You want to: share your challenges and experiences with other women in ILC, get advice from more experienced women in the coalition, find solutions to promote gender justice in ILC.
You believe in: gender justice as a core value of ILC, women’s agency as crucial to achieve change, women’s solidarity as a tool to overcome challenges and reach personal and professional achievements.
You are welcome to join “Women for Women”: a mentoring and solidarity network to promote gender justice and women’s leadership!
Women for women is all-women network which aims at facilitating interaction among women within ILC who are looking for advice, solidarity and support on a diverse range of topics.
Mentors can develop leadership skills and gain a personal sense of satisfaction from knowing that they’ve helped someone. Mentees can expand their knowledge and skills, gain valuable advice from a more experienced person, and build their professional networks as well as their self-confidence.
Mentoring strengthens listening and interpersonal relationship skills, and encourages knowledge sharing. For ILC, mentoring also aims at promoting a sense of solidarity and collaboration across our network.
Women for Women is part of our efforts to make ILC gender just and has the following objectives:
- achieving gender balance in governing ILC bodies
- promoting women’s leadership
- support women to play more significant roles in ILC member organisations and their platforms
- reinforcing connection among women within ILC members
We are currently looking for mentors and mentees in all regions. An in-depth description of the functioning of the network and how to achieve its objectives is here. Some guidelines for participants are here.
